I feel that I’ve acted in bad form by putting this website up and letting it lay fallow over the past month or so. I’ve not abandoned Audacious Software – rather, my academic duties have been very effective at eating up my free time.
That said, here are my plans for the next couple of weeks:
1. I’ve received some bug reports and suggestions for Shion. I’m working to implement those fixes and release an update soon. I’ve also acquired some X10 hardware and I plan on releasing a version of Shion that supports X10 in addition to Insteon probably sometime in April. I’m sorry that it will take that long, but I need to implement some pretty substantive changes under the hood to do this properly.
2. In a variety of contexts, I’ve spoken about a caller ID application that I’ve been working called Cidney. This is a small application that listens for caller ID events and logs them to your Mac in addition to firing off Growl notifications for incoming calls. Cidney also includes a filtering feature that allows you to modify your availability (who gets through) using some simple rules. I’m planning on doing a more general release of this in the next several weeks, so stay tuned.
3. As for Books 4, I’m planning for an initial release sometime during the summer. I’ve been using my Sony PRS-505 extensively and I’m looking forward to better support for managing and cataloging electronic books in addition to my physical volumes.
If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments and I’ll do my best to address them.
