Audacious Software is a Chicago mobile consulting company founded in late 2008 by Chris J. Karr.

Audacious Software’s core competency is ubiquitous computing. We practice ubiquitous computing in the broad academic sense by creating systems that expand users’ ability to obtain, process, and analyze information and provide tools for action, free from the traditional constraints of location and situation. We are not dogmatic about the platforms we use to solve clients’ problems. While we enjoy working with cutting-edge advanced mobile platforms like Android or iOS, we also keep a broad enough perspective to recognize when an alternative approach may provide a better solution. If our approach to mobile & ubiquitous computing sounds like a good fit for a problem that you have, we are always looking for opportunities for new work. If you are interested in targeting a platform that is not represented in our portfolio, please do not let its absence dissuade you from contacting us. We are continually evaluating new technologies, and our portfolio may not always represent our most current endeavors.

In terms of billing, our core rate is $125 per hour. This rate entitles you to the full set of rights associated with a given project project. If a lower rate is required, we are generally willing to negotiate in exchange for ownership of the intellectual property or flexible licenses to reuse newly-created components in future projects. While we cannot always provide a discount, please contact us to explore the possible options. If we cannot help you, chances are that we can refer you to someone else who can.
